The ID2-N MIMO is an enterprise grade mesh wi-fi access point, capable of operating in high
bandwidth demand, client-intensive environments. This robust product features two highpowered
radios – a 400mW 802.11n mesh radio and a 400mW 802.11n client radio.
This featured two-radio design is ideally suited for use in mesh gateway/repeater applications –
one radio dedicated for meshing with other AWD access points (creating a self-forming, selfhealing network architecture) while the second radio is dedicated for client access. The core of this access points capabilities are provided through the AWD CloudControler – where the
network administrator can remotely monitor and configure the network from an advanced and
intuitive interface.
When plugged in, the ID2-N MIMO automatically connects to the CloudController, downloads
its configuration, and joins the appropriate network. It self optimizes, determining the ideal
channel, transmit power, and client connection parameters. Additionally, the ID2-N MIMO self
heals, responding automatically to switch failures and other errors.
The ID2-N MIMO is housed in a slim (1.4”) and attractive ABS and steel, plenum enclosure and
is capable of being desktop, wall or ceiling mounted. This enclosure also houses multiple high
gain antennas, providing full MIMO capabilities. The total capable throughput of this device is
600 megabits: 300 megabits on the mesh radio and 300 megabits on the client radio. As a
repeater, the ID2-N MIMO provides wi-fi connectivity while acting as a wired network
connection for terminal network devices via the 802.3af POE enabled RJ45 port.
Benefits & Utility
High User Density Deployments
- Two radios mesh devices serve many times as many clients as single radio access points.
- Two radio design allows for higher propagation of bandwidth per access point.
Performance Critical Networks
- Provide high-speed access to support bandwidth intensive applications such as streaming video.
- 600Mbps of total available AP throughput.
Networks Requiring Sophisticated Mesh
- Dual-radio design allows several access points to wirelessly share the same connection with minimal drop in client performance.
- Reduced installation cost due to fewer required gateways.
- Mesh improves network reliability - in the event of a switch or cable failure, the ID2-N MIMO will automatically revert to mesh mode, providing continued connectivity to clients.
Networks in Challenging Interference Environments
- Environments with high levels of RF interference.
- Buildings/networks saturated with 2.4 GHz can benefit from operating mesh at 5GHz.
Environmental Friendly
- At slightly more than one inch thick, the ID2-N MIMO not only looks and performs great, it is environmental friendly. Most of the AP is made of recyclablematerial, and with only 12W of max power draw, materials and power consumption are kept to a minimum.
Features
AES-Level Mesh Encryption
Allows all traffic and data transferred across the mesh to remain secure and encrypted, providing end-to-end security.
LAN Bridging (VLAN Supported)
Allows your LAN router, internet modem or other DHCP source assign all client DHCP
addresses, allowing users to gain access to all LAN resources. Additionally, VLAN tagged
traffic is supported across the mesh, all the way through to the gateway.
Dual SSID’s
One public with bandwidth control and splash page/redirect URL; one private with WPA2
encryption and LAN bridging.
Over-the-Air Firmware Updates
The AWD CloudController allows the device to receive automatic firmware upgrades over the
air. Optionally, you can even schedule the time and day to check for and apply these updates
to ensure they don’t occur during critical usage hours.
CloudController Management Interface
The AWD CloudController web-based interface allows for centralized setup and monitoring of
all devices. Minimize cost by reducing infrastructure and the need for on-site controllers or
servers - no IT staff required!
Development Backed Wireless Technology
Dual radios housed within the ID2-N MIMO have been researched, developed and tested
extensively in real world environments and tuned to perform exceptionally for the job at hand.
Internal Watchdog
The ID2-N MIMO features an internal watchdog for added stability and reliability in unstable
power conditions.
Standardized PoE
The ID2-N MIMO uses the 802.3af Power over Ethernet standard, allowing you to use a wide
range of adapters and PoE switches to minimize clutter and ease device power management.
Attractive Design
The ID2-N MIMO is housed in a slim (1.4”) and attractive ABS and steel, plenum rated
enclosure and is capable of being desktop, wall or ceiling mounted.
